BASIC NETWORKING 2

IF DATA COMMUNICATION - Is an active process of transferring data from one computer to another

THEN NETWORK - Are the systems designed to convey information from the point of origin to the destination.

THE 5 BASIC ELEMENTS WHICH WERE TALKED ABOUT IN THE LAST POST ARE LISTED BELOW IN DETAIL:



  1. A SOURCE COMPUTER transmits data . this data can be in the form of file on disk or entered via keyboard.
  2. A COMMUNICATION DEVICE CONNECTED TO SOURCE COMPUTER converts data in the form in which it can be transferred.
  3. A COMMUNICATION CHANNEL transmits data from one computer to another.
  4. A COMMUNICATION DEVICE CONNECTED TO RECEIVING COMPUTER converts the data in the form in which it can be read by the receiving computer.
  5. A RECEIVING COMPUTER receives information and displays it on the screen or prints it and stores it.
